Ammi.ai’s Galentine’s Day: Empowering Women Through AI Literacy!

At Johar’s Place, we are always looking for ways to equip our community with the tools, skills, and knowledge to grow personally and professionally. Our collaboration with ammi.ai for this special Galentine’s AI Literacy workshop was a perfect opportunity to introduce new technology in a way that is practical, accessible, and empowering for women.
An Evening of Learning & Connection
Last Tuesday, nearly 40 women and mothers from the Johar’s Place community gathered virtually for an AI Literacy and Empowerment workshop.
Led by ammi.ai’s Ruqaiya Akbari, the 90-minute session covered the fundamentals of AI and explored how new generative AI technology like ChatGPT can take on the mental load women and mothers disproportionately deal with.
From Concerns to Confidence
The session started with an illuminating survey on participants’ perception of AI. They had valid concerns like “If I don’t know it myself, how will I protect my child?”
Through interactive discussions and simplified concepts, participants learned to use AI tools like ChatGPT as “more of an intern than a subject matter expert.” Many left feeling empowered to “use it safely and get the most out of it as an assistant.”
Spreading the Love with AI
The cherry on top? Participants got to use an AI Galentine generator to create personalized poems and downloadable phone wallpapers. This creative element showed how AI could be both practical and provide a delightful creativity boost!
