What inspired you to start your business at a young age?
Our mother encouraged us.
When did you launch your business, and what was your first product?
We started our business during the Little Acorns Expo at Madresa. The first product we sold was small pieces of soap (the size of a dragon soap).
What do you enjoy most about being a young entrepreneur?
Managing the business.
What motivated you to take the leap into business?
Our mom encouraged us to start our own business.
Did you have any mentors or role models who inspired you?
Yes. Our parents and grandparents have been our biggest supporters.
What has been the biggest challenge in running a business at a young age?
Figuring out how much money we make per product and how much profit we earn.
How do you balance business, school, and personal life?
We are homeschooled, so we finish school and Quran around 4:00 PM, and then we work on our business.
What’s one lesson you’ve learned that you didn’t expect?
Business takes time.
What products do you offer, and how did you come up with the idea?
We sell soaps, candles, and shower steamers. We got the idea from online research.
How do you source your materials and make your products?
We check what we already have, then buy what we need to create our products.
What are your best-selling products?
Our soaps are the most popular!
How do you market your business?
Through social media and word of mouth.
What makes your business unique?
We offer different types of soaps, including special ones just for kids!
What role has the community played in your business journey?
The community has inspired little kids and future entrepreneurs by giving us places to sell, like the Hunar Expo and Bohra Bazaar these events help us show our business to more people, and we get to learn from other sellers too. It’s really fun!
What do you think would help more young entrepreneurs succeed?
Giving us feedback on our products!
Where do you see your business in five years?
Inshallah, we want it to be like Friendly Crystals, our grandparents’ business.
Do you plan to grow your business full-time, or do you have other future goals?
We’re not sure yet!
What advice would you give to other young people who want to start a business?
Start with one product, then expand!
Fun fact about you?
We participated in the Little Acorns Expo!
If you could collaborate with any brand, who would it be?
We’d love to collaborate with wooden toy brands because they are natural and come from trees.
If you could describe your business in one sentence, what would it be?
“We’re young people selling soaps, candles, and shower steamers!”
What’s your favorite part of being an entrepreneur?
Earning money!
